OnePlus pulls its OxygenOS 4.5.7 update due to a bug, will bring version 4.5.8 soon
OnePlus few days ago
rolled out an OS update with some few features and improvements to its OnePlus 5 smartphones. However, it looks like the update also brought an unwanted element to the handsets – stuttering while playing games.
Some of the users who received the OxygenOS update have complained on Reddit, with some even terming the issue ‘dreadful’. These users claim that the issue appears with the OxygenOS 4.5.7 version only.
However, users need not panic, as the Chinese company too is aware of the issue. The company has stalled the update and has said that it is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. OnePlus announced on its forum that it is pulling up the OxygenOS version and will instead roll out OxygenOS 4.5.8 with required fixes. “We are withdrawing 4.5.7 due to a gaming stutter issue reported from some forum users. Therefore, we will push out 4.5.8 instead to resolve this issue ASAP,” posted one of the forum members.
The OxygenOS version 4.5.7 came with a new OnePlus Slate font along with an electronic image stabilisation feature while recording 4K videos. The update also brought the Android security patch to July 1 and the latest GMS package. In terms of optimisations, the firmware version improved Wi-Fi connectivity and standby battery enhancements.
As for the bug fixes, the version fixed occasional sound leaks in the speakers when using earphones, camera shutter sound bug in silent mode for Indian region and missing sound channels when recording videos.
OnePlus for now is planning to launch a new colour variant of the OnePlus 5 smartphone in India. The variant is being said to be in Gold colour. While there is no confirmation yet, according to a recent listing on Amazon, it was revealed that the device will indeed be Gold in colour. The same colour variant was also spotted on Tenaa back in June this year.
